Steam Next Fest October 2024: What It Is + 8 Hot Recommendations

Steam Next Fest October 2024: What It Is + 8 Hot Recommendations

Steam Next Fest is back, and with it comes a wave of game demos that will make us forget there’s anything else in life beyond gaming.

From October 14 to 21, 2024, Steam is hosting a collection of potential gems, ready to become your next favorite titles! If you love diving into new games before they officially release, now is the time to clear some space on your SSD.

What Is Steam Next Fest?

The Steam Next Fest is like Christmas for gamers. It’s an event that allows you to download and try out free demos of games that haven’t even been released yet. From big titles to indie gems searching for some spotlight, everything is right there. You can play, give feedback to the developers, and if you’re lucky, discover your next favorite game before it even hits the market.

Besides the demos, Steam Next Fest also offers live streams from developers, where you can watch them play their games in action and ask questions. If you love to know everything about games before buying them, this is your moment.

Try Before You Buy – What to Play This Year

If you’re wondering, “All this sounds great, but what should I try first?”, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. We tested for you and recommend (in no particular order) some demos you definitely should check out:

  • Void Sols: A soulslike game where you control an arrow (yes, an arrow!) and fight simplified shapes. It’s unlike anything you’ve played, and it will crush you many times before you succeed. Minimalism meets Dark Souls.
  • RevenBlade: A third-person hero shooter focusing on close combat. Play with different heroes, each with their own unique abilities, and master the battlefield. If you love sandbox and bot match modes, you’ll adore this game.
  • Blood Peace: Something between cyberpunk and dungeon crawler. It’s got a bit of everything: intense action, parkour, and different biomes to explore. Despite a few bugs, it’s addictive and worth a try.
  • Keep Driving: You might think it’s a simple driving game, but here, you have to do it all: manage inventory, fight enemies, and pick up hitchhikers. Micro-management and driving in one!
  • Delta Force: The classic FPS returns and is more chaotic than ever. With loads of weapons and vehicles, along with customizable missions, this game is sure to satisfy those seeking explosive action.
  • Kletka: Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be chased by a hungry elevator? If so, this co-op horror game is for you. Descend floors and feed the monster before it devours you!
  • Permafrost: In a post-apocalyptic frozen world, all that matters is survival. Gather resources, build structures, and try not to freeze to death. Think of it as Frostpunk, but more personal.
  • Watch Out For Goblins!: Remember Humans Fall Flat? Imagine it, but with goblins jumping, flinging themselves through the air, and trying to survive crazy challenges. It’s physics-based humor at its best and perfect for playing with friends.

How Not to Miss Steam Next Fest October 2024

The event runs until October 21, so don’t think too long. Download the demos, dive into the world of upcoming games, and prepare for some of the best gaming experiences you’ll have this year.

Until then, happy rage-quitting!
