The Lore of Black Friday 2024

It was a day like any other at Battlenet. The usual coffee from the Battlenet under our office,
talking about Arcane (RIOT ruined us again), and brainstorming for Black Friday.

“Guys, should we go for some discounts?”

“Who even bites on discounts anymore? Everyone does the same. Let’s give something good to our people.”

“How about a giveaway?”

“Meh, same old story. One person wins, and everyone else gets disappointed.”

The vibe was going nowhere. We were all sprawled out like champions at the base before respawning, and suddenly…
we hear a voice from the street: “WATERMELONS, MANDARINS, NOT SELLING, JUST GIVING AWAY!”

A guy with a truck loaded with watermelons passed by Battlenet and became our muse. We looked at each other, and then it hit us:
“That’s it! This Black Friday… we’re giving away, not selling!”

At Battlenet, we don’t do things halfway, so we decided to take it to the next level. We had Stathis, our colleague from Agios Spyridon, Katerini (yes, the place with watermelons, olives, kiwis, and trucks), set up the scene of his life.

Stathis borrowed his father’s truck, which was already loaded because his dad was harvesting olives that day.

And when we say “borrowed,” we mean “took it without asking.”
