LoL Worlds 2024 is right around the corner! The premier esports event for League of Legends brings together the top teams from every corner of the globe to compete for the Summoner’s Cup.

 

 

What is the World Championship?

A quick reminder for veterans and an update for noobs:

The Worlds is the pinnacle of League of Legends esports, where the best teams from 8 regions battle it out for the trophy.

This year, the action takes place in Europe! The event kicks off on September 25 and culminates on November 2 with the grand final in London.

Grab your popcorn because the schedule is packed with surprises.

Play-In Stage: September 25-29,

Berlin Swiss Stage: October 3-7,

Berlin Knockout Stage: October 17-27, Paris

Finals: November 2, London

 

Which Teams Are Competing?

You might expect the usual suspects, like T1 from Korea or G2 Esports from Europe, but this year has its share of surprises.

New and old teams are ready to fight for the crown. 20 teams from around the world are gearing up for a season full of intensity and action.

The Play-In, Swiss, and Knockout Stages will test each team’s strategy, teamwork, and nerves.

Notable Teams:

  • G2 Esports (EMEA): The kings of Europe, with titles from the Winter, Spring, Summer Splits, and LEC Season Finals, are undoubtedly favorites.
  • Fnatic (EMEA): A historic team always at the top of the esports scene.

The T1 star has won the title four times: in 2023, 2016, 2015, and 2013. Faker is the only player with such a record and is considered the ultimate legend!

Championship Format

Worlds 2024 starts on September 25 with the Play-In Stage, where teams will compete to advance to the Swiss Stage.

From October 3 to 13, the top teams will battle for a spot in the Knockout Stages, which will occur from October 17 to 27.

The grand final will take place on November 2 in London, where the top two teams will clash for the title.
