“TSIOU” + Flappy Bird Comeback

And yet, Flappy Bird is back.

It’s been 10 years since we were smashing our phones against walls, but for some reason, Flappy Bird is making a comeback.

No, it’s not a remaster or update – the Flappy Bird Foundation (yes, it exists!) has announced the return of the game we both loved and hated simultaneously.

The original game achieved cult status in 2014 when its creator, Dong Nguyen, suddenly pulled it from the App Store, causing a frenzy.

Now it’s returning, this time with new modes, multiplayer challenges, and a browser-based game for those who miss the days of playing with just their keyboard arrows.

“TSIOU”

Meanwhile, while everyone else is waiting for the official release, we played a variant all through August (if you haven’t heard of TSIOU, you missed out) (with a name like that, you can’t ignore it). And if you’re wondering who asked for Flappy Bird’s comeback, let us tell you that no one actually asked for it, neither us nor the FBF, but… here it is.

At BattlenetGS, at least, we never miss an opportunity to try anything random, and when we thought about a Greek twist on Flappy Bird, we just had to.

If you think about how addictive the original was, imagine trying to navigate through pipes with a bird named “TSIOU.”

And I don’t believe anyone forgot the summer hit playing in the background.

Coming Back Because It Can

Jokes aside, Flappy Bird’s comeback shows that simple games with the right level of difficulty always have an audience.

People are still searching for that sense of challenge without flashy graphics and complex stories. The new Flappy Bird promises exactly that.

Is this reboot necessary? Probably not.

But it seems Flappy Bird can still break nerves with style (and skins).

What’s Coming with Flappy Bird’s Return?

According to The Flappy Bird Foundation, the new game will bring much more than we remember.

New modes, multiplayer challenges, and even a browser-based game are in the works.

A new era for Flappy Bird has just begun, with the first version expected by the end of 2024 for browsers and later for iOS and Android in 2025.

Stay tuned for more, as the new Flappy Bird is expected at the end of 2024 for browsers and sometime in 2025 for iOS and Android.

For Us?

TSIOU will forever remain in our hearts.
